Karin Miller is a South African visual artist. Karin’s artwork are a mix of collage and graphic elements. Karin create imaginary and humorous composition in which the elements tell us about politics, religion, sex with a new and eclectic iconography.
Her work is: “a visual play between beauty and tragedy, rhythm and interruption – searching for a sense of order in the overwhelming chaos of life. Two main metaphors I use are those of disguise and pattern. Apart from the obvious masks, I play games of hide and seek with the viewer. Issues are veiled; in the discovery of detail, deceit is revealed and absurdly inverted.”
She was fascinated with all decorative things. She had a huge admiration for textile designers. Beauty and absurdity influenced her artwork. All the images are full of details. The viewer must be careful. In her artwork she uses some famous images like actor, actresses, queens..
