On 4th October opened “Kampala Contemporary Art Festival”, about a month of events through 31st October. KLA ART 014 is organised by 32 ° East I Ugandan Arts Trust. Kampala Contemporary Art Festival is an important platform to showcase new ideas. An interesting case is the project Unmapped; but also Boda Boda Project is an funny and curious method for making art.

Between the artists featured we remember: Dennis Muraguri, Paul Bukenya Katamiira, Mulugeta Gebrekidan, Tony Cyizanye, Vivian Mugume, Vitshois Mwilambwe Bondo, Helen Nabukeya, Paul Ndunguru, Helen Zuru and Francis X Nnaggenda.
“KLA ART 014 promises to galvanise the city into artistic activity and awareness. This festival illustrates a triumph of sustained cultural and artistic collaboration in the region; artists from Uganda and its neighbouring countries will produce and present their art in Kampala, initiating conversations and interaction across the wider Eastern Africa region.”
